Assessment Manager

The Assessment Manager is key to ensuring VTCT maintains the confidence of its customers, the industry and the regulator in the standards of qualifications.
Location: Eastleigh,Hampshire
Salary: £37,389 – £49,700 per annum

Based in Eastleigh, Hampshire, VTCT is a medium sized awarding organisation which specialises in Beauty, Hair, Complementary Therapy together with Sport and Active Leisure. VTCT has Diploma Awarding Body status for Hair and Beauty Studies and Sport and Active Leisure.
 
The Assessment Manager is key to ensuring VTCT maintains the confidence of its customers, the industry and the regulator in the standards of qualifications. The Assessment Manager will contribute to the development of all qualification assessment methodology, managing the development, application and review of all assessment instruments.
 
The external assessments fall into the following categories:
 
● Principal Learning (external)
● Functional Skills
● VRQ and NVQ multiple choice
● VRQ and NVQ case studies/short answers
 
As with all awarding organisations, as new National Occupational standards are developed and qualifications are accredited to the QCF, the assessment strategy and methodology change.
 
This is an exciting and challenging time. This post offers the opportunity to contribute to ensuring that the assessments offered by VTCT are engaging, offer high quality and matched by a cost effective service to the customers.
 
The post holder will be office based at Eastleigh. As most writers and markers are employed within schools, colleges and providers the post holder needs to be flexible as weekend work is reasonably frequent (but predictable – as in timetabled) but recouped by arrangement with the line manager. Annual leave needs to be taken outside of the peak examination marking and results periods.
