Downloads	The Diplomas are compound qualifications comprising:   ·       Principal Learning – providing a blend of knowledge, understanding and skills in the context of a business sector with at least 50% applied and practical learning.   ·       Project – providing an opportunity to extend learners promoting the development of research and project skills in an area of their interest.   ·       Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills – wider transferable skills that prepare learners for working life and lifelong learning.   ·       Functional Skills – essential skills in English, Maths and ICT.   ·      Additional and Specialist Learning – additional studies to allow specialization (e.g. providing vocational training in hairdressing) or broadening of the young persons programme of study.	News - 3 February The final date for entries on to the June series of external assessments for principal learning and functional skills is 21 March 2010. This is also the final date for internal assessment names requiring moderation in June. The June timetable of external assessments will be published shortly.
