VTCT recognised as an Investor in People

VTCT has been awarded accreditation against the Investors in People Standard, demonstrating its commitment to high performance through good people management, in what has been a pivotal 12 months for the organisation.

VTCT is the leading awarding organisation in the Hair & Beauty sectors. With a learner-focused approach, its core charitable objectives are to advance education, research and the public dissemination of knowledge. The organisation has helped to introduce many new initiatives into the education system, contributing to improvements in areas such as assessment and learner employability.

During the course of the last 18 months, VTCT has more firmly placed learners at the heart of its strategy, forming strategic partnerships with industry bodies to improve the standard of training, and presenting its vocational skills vision in the House of Commons. In addition to this, VTCT has acquired two companies (ITEC and Digital Assess) to add value to its courses and improve the overall learner experience. The organisation has subsequently been nominated for three industry awards, reflecting its commitment to delivering high quality training.

Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results. Underpinning the Standard is the Investors in People framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry. Investors in People enables organisations to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.

Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate VTCT, Investors in People accreditation is the sign of a great employer, an outperforming place to work and a clear commitment to success. VTCT should be extremely proud of its achievement.”

Commenting on the award, Alan Woods OBE, Chief Executive of VTCT said: “During my time with this organisation, I have seen first-hand the dedication and innovation from the teams at the VTCT group . As well as championing learners and delivering the right skills to employers, it is equally important that we continue to focus on our aim to be an employer of choice, and this accreditation demonstrates that commitment.”
