Specification of Apprenticeship Standards for England, or SASE, is the NVQ Apprenticeship Framework. This has been the traditional apprenticeship framework in England for many years. The SASE framework is made up of an NVQ qualification as well as requiring Maths and English qualifications (if not previously achieved). An additional part of the framework structure is the need for the apprentice to understand Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR).
This apprenticeship structure is usually one to two years of study and includes both paid work and paid study time. It has been a competency-based approach with ongoing skills and knowledge tests to achieve the qualification.
It's important to note that the SASE framework will be ending 31 July 2020. Please take that into consideration when you are deciding which apprenticeship format you will use.
