Frequently Asked Questions

Below we will add any frequently asked questions that we receive relating to this webinar.


Will we be using the same IQA documents for the internal process that we did last year? If not, where can I find this years documents?

There will be new documentation for internal quality assurance this year. This will be available on the PTQ Covid-19 area of VTCT’s website.

When does the Head of Centre Declaration for VRQs need to be completed?

The Head of Centre Declaration for VRQs does not have a set deadline. The Head of Centre declaration for PTQ TAGs needs to be submitted for the 21st May.

Do we email the centre declaration form to our EQA?

The EQA will give you full instructions regarding evidence to be uploaded.

When will the webform be available?

Will CPD for this year remain at 30 hours per year?

Yes, CPD remains 30 hours and or pro-rata.

Is the final synoptic exam taking place?

Centres will submit a Teacher Assessed Grade (TAG) for the synoptic practical assessment within the Technical Certificates and Technical Level Qualifications. What does ‘capture adaptations’ at learner level and centre level mean?

The documentation must capture the learner adaptations The IQA is responsible for ensuring adaptations have been applied correctly.

Is it the normal rate of sampling expected across all qualifications (unless reasonable adjustments etc.)?

Sampling is driven individually by your centre and its sampling strategy.

Can you identify which policies have been updated and where we find the policies?

We have reviewed our policies, including Malpractice and Maladministration Policy and Procedure – Enquiries and Appeal Procedure – Complaints. All policies can be found here.

Is the Head of Centre Declaration form only for the Technical quals?

Head of Centre Declarations are required for both TAGs and adaptation. However, each suite of qualifications has a different template. Centres must ensure they use the correct template for the qualifications they are delivering.

We are currently working with the Sector Skills Council and any information will be published. Please continue to refer to the current NVQ adaptations.
