Frequently Asked Questions

Below are the most frequently asked questions regarding the plan for adaptations for NVQs and VRQs in the academic year 2020/2021.

General Questions

When will we know which adaptations we can utilise?

We are currently working on VTCT VRQ adaptations documentation.

We are also working on NVQ adaptations with our customers and stakeholders to ensure we are aligned across all the other Awarding Organisations involved.

Will we need to run the adaptations by the EQAs first?

The adaptations will be outlined in guidance booklets, there will be no need to run adaptations past the EQAs.

What should I do if I have not heard from an EQA?

VTCT EQAs have been working closely with centres to complete delayed learners through to certification.

Where can I find the adaptations supporting documentation?

Where can I find the centre quality assurance form that is required for off-site exams?

Can learners use other learners for assessment?

Yes. The clients can be from the learner’s workplace, educational or linked household member (household bubble)

Have the EPA examiners received Covid-19 training?

All Apprenticeship Assessors have undertaken training regarding COVID-19 and each Apprenticeship Assessor has completed the COVID qualification.

How can we currently get centre approval for new standards?

If you referring to the on programme qualifications that are included in some standards and are a current centre with VTCT, please email Quality Assurance approval@vtct.org.uk

What challenges are there with work based learning?

Apprenticeship providers should ensure that they keep up to date with all Government guidance and the restrictions that they impose.

In addition, keeping up to date with IfATE communications is also recommended.
