Leeds City College Hair and Beauty department offer the VTCT Level 3 Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair & Media Make-up course. The course not only prepares students who aspire to take on further study at university, but also builds an enhanced repertoire of technical skills to prepare learners for employment as a professional theatrical media make-up artist. This course allows for learners to have their skills assessed in a real or realistic working environment.
Having links with industry, students from Leeds City College Hair and Beauty department had the opportunity to support the Lidos Production Company in the production of Aladdin at the Carriage Works Theatre in Leeds. The pantomime took place on Friday 12th January to Saturday 20th January 2018.
During the pantomime, foundation degree students worked closely to support Level 3 students as part of their ‘managing an event’ module. Leeds City College Hair and Beauty department understand the value of practical experience as it is fundamental for students in preparation for a successful employment in industry. The department ensures that the right training and experience are given to all VTCT learners at different levels.
