Goal driven Matthew plans to move on to Level 3 Professional Cookery, work abroad as a chef and then eventually come back to the UK to open his own restaurant.
Although a chef at heart, Matthew understands the need for Food and Beverage Service Supervision which has helped him to understand the industry and running of a business. He comments “I’ve always known that being in a professional kitchen is going to be stressful and hard work but that’s part of the appeal. The experience of the college staff makes the learning real and helps me gain new knowledge and skills.”
Stein’s Academy has demonstrated dishes from different places which is helping Matthew to gain an insight into different aspects of fish cuisine, and his series of visits to local businesses has been invaluable exposure.
