Infection Prevention Qualifications

The sector-specific VTCT Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention qualifications are now live and taking registrations.

These regulated qualifications, developed with public health experts, build upon the UK Government’s generic public health guidelines, offering bespoke content specific to treatments within each relevant sector.  Each qualification ensures learners are equipped with the most current and essential knowledge required to safely and effectively perform treatments and services on clients within their industry.

The VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Awards in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) are knowledge-based qualifications aimed at learners who need to understand the COVID-19 infection prevention methods required for their sectors in order to maintain high levels of health and safety in the provision of their services to clients.

Following extensive consultation, these qualifications are no longer mandatory prerequisites for any VTCT or iTEC qualification, but remain eligible for public funding in England and can be offered as optional qualifications by all VTCT and iTEC centres.

VTCT now have a number of options for completing these qualifications via either online examination or downloadable paper-based exams, as well as other adaptions where appropriate. Certificates for these qualifications should now be claimed as per the standard process for all other VTCT qualifications. Guidance on how to complete certificate claims can be found in the Support Guides & Webinars section of Linx2.
