Frequently Asked Questions

Below we will add any frequently asked questions that we receive relating to this webinar.

General Questions

Venues we would normally use for the EPA are not allowing access. Would this enable us to apply for the professional discussion?

Each application to use the discretion of a professional discussion will be reviewed individually to ensure that training providers have exhausted all contingencies prior to an application. Employers and training providers will be required to provide a rationale with supporting evidence to confirm the apprentice’s eligibility.

VTCT deliver EPAs on a Sunday, where most hairdressing salons are closed and we anticipate the ‘client backlog’ will have subsided after VTCT’s 30 day booking period for an End-point Assessment.

What evidence is needed for Hair Professionals to use the dispensations in the professional discussion?

Apprentices must meet the eligibility criteria before an application to use this discretion can be made.

How long is the Professional Discussion and how will it take place?

The professional discussion should take up to a maximum of one hour and will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.

What are the costings for the Professional Discussion?

The costings for the professional discussion are the same as they are for the practical End-point Assessment.

Can Beauty Consultants in scenario 3 use a member of their household bubble?

Yes, they can.
