They will deliver training in new skills techniques and technologies which have been specifically designed for tutors.  They will come to your centre and provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with high quality training to enhance the quality and confidence of all involved within your training programmes. We have on offer courses for Beauty Therapy, Nail Services, Make-up Services, Complementary Therapies, Hairdressing and Barbering, Sports, Active Health and Fitness, Hospitality and Catering and Education and Training.

The aim of the training is to enhance knowledge, skills and qualifications for you to pass on to your learners or to enable you to expand the range of VTCT courses you can offer. – Laura Holdstock, Centre Training Manager

We are proud to introduce one of our industry experts, Carolyn Walker from Curlformers.
Carolyn has been working within the hairdressing industry for over 30 years. She has been working with Hair Flair Ltd for 7 years as their Sales and Education Manager. Her job is very varied and can range from teaching in a college to having meetings in the USA, to generally overseeing training and sales, managing trade shows and events, to photo shoots and researching new products as well as hair related enquiries for the Hair Flair Ltd company that supply Curlformers.

Why did you want to get into the industry?
“I loved the art and skill of changing people’s hair for the better, and was inspired to join the industry by some of the greatest hairdressers, particularly Vidal Sassoon and I was further motivated the amazing hair-up skills of Patrick Cameron.”

Why do you feel that it is important for educators to update their skills and maintain currency?
“Hairdressing is a fast moving industry, new skills and products are evolving all of the time, it is essential that we need to keep up with these new skills by undergoing further training to enhance our knowledge and improve our hairdressing abilities. With hair fashion and styles changing from season to season it is vital that we keep up to date with current trends. When we train educators to use Curlformers, we love to create a ‘WOW’ factor when they see how amazingly easy they are to use. “

Why is CPD so important?
I feel that it is important to immerse ourselves in training of new products and hair trends so that we can pass on the new skills and enthusiasm to our students with confidence, social media has made our industry so much more accessible and there is always someone offering something new. We need to ensure that we are on the cutting edge of new and innovative creations so that our students have complete confidence in their skills. We have taught many educators over the years, they have gone on to train their students using Curlformers with confidence, working with beginners, teaching them to set and the more advanced learners with perming techniques. “

The New Apprenticeships and Tech Level Qualifications really highlight employability skills in particular that the stylist should work with commercial and environmental awareness.   What are your links to sustainability?
We have worked with ecosalon to help promote working in a more eco- friendly way. We use Curlformers on damp hair and allow it to dry naturally without heat, so not only is it more eco-friendly but it is a lot kinder to the hair! Curlformers can be reused time after time, all they need is a quick rinse and then they are ready to use again. Drying naturally with Curlformers works on all hair types, therefore it is a must for anyone who wants to reduce their eco footprint. You can create a gorgeous, more lasting curl result without the use of a hot iron or wand and as Curlformers come in 3 different widths, barrel, spiral and corkscrew there is a Curlformer for every occasion.”

Why not carry out the online course on http://ecohairandbeauty.com/virtual-salon/ you and your learners could complete this virtual salon tour, answer all of the questions and gain a workshop certificate.
Within The Training Academy, Carolyn is offering Setting and Dressing with Curlformers and Perming with Curlformers.
