Saks Apprentice Awards Winners announced!

Saks Education – one of the UK’s top training providers – announced the winners of the annual Saks Apprentice Awards, sparking excitement of a bright future for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy.

Apprentices from across the country competed in regional hairdressing heats across Darlington, Manchester, London and Maidstone.  Beauty Apprentices were asked to submit a portfolio which included before and after images of their best work, including a case study describing what techniques were used and client testimonials.

VTCT trained apprentices wowed the judges by creating outstanding looks inspired by mythical creatures, punk rock and classic beauty , just to name a few!

National Training Manager, and judge of the regional Hairdressing heats, Mandy Durkin said: “This year’s apprentice awards was by far one of the best we have seen, which is very exciting for the future of the industry.

“With looks inspired by unicorns, mermaids, robots, 80’s punk rock, and classic it’s safe to say our apprentices weren’t afraid to think outside of the box, and put their creative skills to the test!

“Beauty apprentices also shined this year as they created show stopping portfolios, filled with case studies of modern, technical services delivered with precision, including defined Henna Brows and red-carpet worthy, super glam makeup.

“I am so proud of everyone who took part in the apprentice awards, I overheard one employer who came to support their apprentice say ‘if this is the future of Hairdressing, I for one am so excited’, and having working in the industry for over 20 years myself, I have to agree!”
